Studio Programs
Age Groups
I offer private piano lessons to K-12 students, and female adults under the age of 60. I also teach very limited advanced preschoolers who meet ALL the criteria of Q1 on the FAQ page.
While some studio programs below are tailored toward the preK-12th grade students, all the programs are available for college and other adult students. Tuition is the same whether students choose all or some of the programs.
1. customized & well-rounded curriculum according to each student's learning pace and developmental stage. Topics include: note-reading, sight-playing, rhythmic and technical development, ear training, music theory, basic composition, and composer biographies/music history.
2. musical genres beyond classical music: students can also learn pop, rock, gaming music, alternatives, new age, gospel, musical show tunes, rags, jazz & blues, or film music.
3. technology lab with some of the best software, apps, and online resources in music theory, ear training, rhythmic development, composer stories, and music history.
4. sight-reading library from a variety of method books and supplemental materials to reinforce students' skill to sight play and independent learning.
5. weekly practice star chart and small treats to reward students' lesson preparation.
6. weekly reading star chart for reading composer stories and listening to their music. There are 60 composer stories and music history articles, along with listening to hundreds of musical pieces by over 50 composers on YouTube or CDs (if you still have a device that plays it).
7. larger rewards for consistent positive learning attitude.
8. annual recital and award ceremony to celebrate students' yearly accomplishments. Every student will receive an award and an MP3 recording of their performance at the recital.
